Biography

Charlotte McFaddin
Charlotte McFaddin is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust group. Her practice focuses on regulatory approval for mergers and acquisitions and government investigations across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, technology, and asset management.

Charlotte served as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice Stephen R. McCullough of the Supreme Court of Virginia. As a law student, she served as a law clerk with the Consumer Protection Section of the Virginia Office of the Attorney General where she assisted with merger control review, state antitrust enforcement, and consumer protection litigation.

Charlotte maintains an active pro bono practice, which has included work on behalf of the Innocence Project and HIAS.

Charlotte received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law where she served on the Managing Board of the Virginia Law & Business Review. Her research is published in the Virginia Journal of International Law and online in the Fordham International Law Journal. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, in Financial Management from Hillsdale College.

Charlotte’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • Groupe Lactalis on its $2.1 billion acquisition of the U.S. yogurt business of General Mills.
  • Microsoft in its $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Inc., a leading publisher of popular PC, console, and mobile games.
  • Norfolk Southern in the U.S. Surface Transportation Board proceeding analyzing Canadian Pacific Railway’s $31 billion acquisition of Kansas City Southern and defending Norfolk Southern’s joint venture with Kansas City Southern from an unfounded attack by CSX Transportation in the same proceeding.
