NEW YORK, October 19, 2026: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that leading antitrust lawyer Yuni Yan Sobel has joined the Firm as a partner in the U.S. Antitrust practice, based in New York.

Yuni is a highly regarded antitrust lawyer with deep experience in Hart-Scott-Rodino (“HSR”) Act and global merger control matters. She advises clients on complex transaction structures across private equity, public company M&A and restructuring matters. Her arrival adds further depth to Weil’s Antitrust capabilities and strengthens the support the Firm provides to its leading M&A and Private Equity practices.

“Yuni is an outstanding lawyer and an important strategic addition to the Firm,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “She is a recognized leader in merger control matters, and her experience will strengthen a critical capability for our clients across our integrated global platform.”

“Yuni brings tremendous depth and experience to our Antitrust practice,” said David Lender, Co-Chair of Weil’s global Litigation Department. “Her deep HSR expertise will be particularly valuable to clients navigating the regulatory complexities of sophisticated M&A and Private Equity transactions.”

“Yuni is widely recognized for her ability to guide corporate clients through regulatory hurdles with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented touch,” said Kyle Krpata, Co-Chair of Weil’s Corporate Department. “Her judgment and alignment with our deal teams will be a tremendous asset as clients navigate today’s rigorous merger-control landscape.”

Yuni’s arrival also reflects Weil’s continued investment in market-leading talent across the Firm. Recent developments include the appointments of Kyle Krpata and Michael Lubowitz as Co-Chairs of the Corporate Department; the separate returns of U.S. Private Equity Co-Head Peter Feist, U.S. Banking & Finance partner Damian Ridealgh and U.S. Restructuring partner Debra Sinclair in New York; the additions of Private Equity partners Jon Stott and Michael Hanna in San Francisco; Rebecca Ward in London and Dr. Olga Stürmer and Dr. David Jansen in Frankfurt; as well as the addition of Capital Markets partner Shu Du in Hong Kong.

“Having worked across from Yuni for years, we have seen firsthand the judgment and strategic approach she brings to complex antitrust and merger control matters,” said Michael Moiseyev and Brianne Kucerik, Co-Heads of Weil’s Antitrust practice in the U.S. “We’re delighted to welcome her experience and perspective to our team.”

She joins Weil from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where she led HSR teams as a member of that firm’s Antitrust and Mergers & Acquisition Groups. Yuni also advises clients on merger clearance strategies, antitrust risk and regulatory deal terms in U.S. and global transactions. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Antitrust Section and previously served as Chair of its Mergers Committee.

“I look forward to joining my new colleagues and drawing on my experience in HSR and merger control to offer clients real-time, pragmatic and business-focused regulatory guidance to navigate increasingly complex transactions and drive deal certainty,” said Yuni.
