Weil acted as lead transaction counsel to Paprec Group in connection with its acquisition of a majority stake in Brantner Green Solutions from the Brantner family. The closing of the transaction is subject to the customary regulatory approvals.
Paprec Group, with headquarters in France, is one of Europe’s leaders in the circular economy, covering the entire waste management value chain. The international provider of comprehensive solutions for waste management and green energy production will operate in fifteen countries with approximately 26,000 employees across 450 sites by the end of the year. With the acquisition of Brantner Green Solutions, Paprec will enter five new markets in Central and Eastern Europe: Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Serbia, creating a strong platform for further growth in the region. Brantner Green Solutions, a family business founded in 1936, is a leading waste management company in Central and Eastern Europe. It employs approximately 2,500 people across 65 sites and serves more than 28,000 municipal, industrial and commercial customers.
The parties agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
