Melinda Root is an associate in the Patent Litigation practice group in Weil’s Silicon Valley office. She has experience with district court patent litigation involving a variety of technologies, including video streaming services, Internet and networking technologies, and DNA sequencers.
Melinda earned her J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was a staff editor of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. Additionally, she participated in the Texas Law Supreme Court Clinic where she drafted briefs filed at the U.S. Supreme Court. Melinda received her B.S. in Physics from the University of Virginia. While in law school, she served as an intern for the Hon. H. Christopher Mott of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.
