Weil Adds Eminent Intellectual Property Lawyers to Our Expanding IP, Technology & Science Litigation Practice
As part of the milestone expansion of our renowned Intellectual Property capabilities, Weil has welcomed seven distinguished partners to launch our new IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice that will keep the Firm at the forefront of this landscape.

To announce the IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice, Weil welcomed three nationally recognized first-chair trial partners Doug Lumish, Jeff Homrig and Gabe Gross, who joined the Firm together on July 31. Doug and Jeff are Co-Heads of this practice and anchor the Firm’s growing nationwide technology litigation capabilities. All three partners are leaders in intellectual property, patent, trade secret and other commercial disputes. They are highly regarded IP trial lawyers with extensive experience advising top-tier clients in bet-the-company litigation matters, and bring deep experience across the science and technology sectors – including in high tech, biotechnology, life sciences and AI – as well as the ability to handle any IP matter at any phase of litigation. Doug and Gabe reside in our Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices, and Jeff is based in Texas.

Doug and Jeff returned to Weil after beginning their legal careers here. They are also part of a long line of returning partners: since January 2023, a remarkable 15 former Weil lawyers have rejoined the Firm.
Doug and Jeff sat down for a conversation with Executive Partner Barry Wolf about their homecoming and their plans for the future of the IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice.

Weil also welcomed renowned litigator Eric Namrow as Global Chair of ITC and Cross-Border IP Enforcement, based in Washington, D.C. For nearly 30 years, he has led some of the highest-profile and technically complex IP disputes before the U.S. ITC, U.S. district and appellate courts, Customs, and many other important IP venues. His track record before the ITC is unparalleled, encompassing more than 125 investigations, and including more than 40 that have proceeded through trial.

Weil announced the additions of highly skilled litigators Chris Henry and Gaby LaHatte to the IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice. A seasoned IP trial lawyer, Chris counsels clients in high-stakes trade secret and patent litigation before U.S. district courts, the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. International Trade Commission. He is based in Boston. An experienced courtroom advocate and legal strategist, Gaby focuses on representing market-leading pharmaceutical and technology companies in cutting-edge patent litigation and trade secrets matters. She is based in San Francisco.

In early September, Weil welcomed back Joseph Lee as another major addition to the Firm’s new IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice in the Los Angeles office. A trained mechanical engineer and former software developer, Joe represents a wide range of technology companies, including those involved in the Internet, semiconductor, networking, telecommunications and software industries, across all phases of IP litigation in courts around the country, from initial case strategy, through discovery and motion practice, and at trial.
