LOS ANGELES, SEPTEMBER 2, 2025: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP today announced another major addition to its renowned Intellectual Property team with the arrival of Joseph H. Lee, who rejoins the Firm as a partner in Weil’s new IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice in Los Angeles. Joe rejoins at the same time as Nate Christensen, a private equity partner in Dallas, and together they are the 14th and 15th partners to return to Weil since the beginning of 2023.
Joe rejoins his former colleagues Doug Lumish, Jeff Homrig, Gabe Gross, Chris Henry and Gaby LaHatte, who have all joined Weil since the end of July. In August, Weil also welcomed Eric Namrow as Global Chair of ITC and Cross-Border IP Enforcement. As Co-Heads of Weil’s IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice, Doug and Jeff are anchoring the Firm’s growing, nationwide technology litigation capabilities.
“We are delighted to welcome back Joe as part of our IP expansion,” Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf said. “We are committed to establishing the industry's finest IP litigation practice, and Joe’s background and technical expertise position us to deliver exceptional results for clients in this fast-moving space.”
“With his deep technical background and top-notch trial skills, Joe will be instrumental in the growth of our IP team and our Los Angeles office,” said David Lender, Co-Chair of Weil’s global Litigation Department. “He has an outstanding track record and brings a unique science and technology expertise that is in high demand.”
“We have worked closely with Joe for over fifteen years and are excited to welcome him back to Weil,” said Doug Lumish and Jeff Homrig, Co-Heads of Weil’s IP, Technology & Science Litigation Practice. “Joe is a talented litigator with dynamic skills and a growth mindset, and he will be an ideal cultural fit for the team.”
A trained mechanical engineer, software developer, and lawyer, Joe represents a wide range of technology companies, including in the semiconductor, networking, telecommunications and software industries. He has managed all phases of intellectual property litigation, from developing initial case strategy, through discovery and motion practice, and to trial.
Joe rejoins Weil from another large global law firm. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as an engineer at Boeing for several years where he designed, developed, and tested communication satellite systems.
“I am thrilled to be coming back to Weil during this exciting time of growth and to rejoin my former colleagues in furthering Weil’s preeminent IP litigation practice,” Joe said. “This is a truly outstanding group of trial lawyers with a shared vision for excellence and teamwork, and we look forward to making our mark on the industry.”
