Nya Gavin
Biography
Nya is an associate in Weil’s antitrust practice where she focuses on antitrust litigation and US and global regulatory approval for mergers and acquisitions. She has worked on matters across a wide range of industries, including software/technology, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage.
Prior to joining Weil, Nya interned at the Federal Trade Commission in the Health Care Division, where she worked on a price-fixing litigation.
She received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in Legal Studies and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Nya’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- Microsoft in its $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Inc., a leading publisher of popular PC, console and mobile games.
- Microsoft on its investment in OpenAI.
- Johnson & Johnson on multiple transactions, including:
- The $1.7 billion acquisition of medical device maker V-Wave.
- The $13.1 billion acquisition of Shockwave Medical.
- The $275M+ sale of its Acclarent ENT surgery division to Integra.
- IQVIA in its effort to defend its proposed acquisition of Propel Media Inc., which owns DeepIntent, in litigation with the FTC.
- Siete Foods in its $1.2 billion sale to PepsiCo.
- ChampionX Corporation in its pending $7.8 billion sale to SLB.
