Julia Yu
Julia Yu is an associate in Weil's Capital Markets practice and is based in New York. Julia participates in advising issuers, underwriters and private equity sponsors in connection with public and private offerings of securities and other capital markets transactions. She has been involved in investment grade and high-yield debt offerings as well as primary and secondary equity offerings.

Julia has been part of the teams advising on the following matters:

  • Allego N.V. in an exchange offer and consent solicitation including the exchange of 13,029,838 of the Company’s warrants for 2,996,918 ordinary shares
  • AYR Wellness Inc. in the issuance of $243 million of senior secured notes due 2026, subordinate voting shares and warrants to purchase subordinate voting shares
  • Cano Health, Inc. in connection with its emergence from restructuring proceedings which included the issuance of 41,800,000 shares of common stock and 2,200,150 warrants
  • J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Scotia Capital, Inc. and other financial institutions, as representatives of the underwriters, in a $500 million offering of senior unsecured notes by Hasbro, Inc. to redeem or repay outstanding indebtedness.
  • Portillo’s, Inc. (a publicly traded company backed by Berkshire Partners) in its $182 million synthetic secondary offering of 8 million shares of its common stock; in its $179 million synthetic secondary offering of 8 million shares of its Class A common stock and partial exercise of its over-allotment option for an additional $13 million in proceeds; and in its $115 million synthetic secondary offering of 8 million shares of its Class A common stock
  • Softbank Vision Fund II-2 L.P. as purchaser of senior secured notes of WeWork Companies LLC
  • The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in its $2 billion offering of investment grade senior unsecured notes and in its $650 million offering of investment grade senior unsecured notes
  • The underwriters in connection with a marketed secondary offering of 18,000,000 shares of Fluence Energy, Inc.’s Class A common stock by Siemens, AES and QIA as selling stockholders

Julia received her J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal. She received her B.A., with honors, from Wesleyan University.
