Weil Joins GLAAD in Support of LGBTQ+ Equality

Weil has joined GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, in signing a statement of support for LGBTQ+ people along with more than 50 other companies, including Accenture, Cisco, Dow, Eli Lilly and Company, Equinox Group, Eventbrite, Gilead Sciences, Inc., HP Inc., Intel Corporation, Logitech, Mondelēz International, Inc., Moody’s Corporation, Pfizer Inc., Salesforce, Sony Music and SoundCloud.

This joint statement comes in response to an increase in threats of violence against companies that have recognized Pride Month for many years. GLAAD and the other signatories are displaying their support of the LGBTQ+ community by rejecting harassment and bullying, and supporting businesses that aim to serve all in a safe and inclusive manner.

Weil has maintained a longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and to the LGBTQ+ community at large. The Firm continues to implement leading-edge policies and initiatives to promote inclusion in the workplace and greater equity for LGBTQ+ employees and their families.

WeilPride, the Firm’s LGBTQ+ affinity group, was established with the primary purpose of enhancing the recruitment and retention of LGBTQ+ attorneys and staff and fostering a better understanding of the unique issues facing the LGBTQ+ community. The Firm uses the term LGBTQ+ to ensure that it is inclusive of all identities to make the community feel welcomed, and make certain that nobody is left out. As such, Weil has continuously been ranked among the “Best Places to Work” for members of the LGBTQ+ community, with a 100% rating on the most recent Corporate Equity Index by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Additionally, WeilPride is honoring its dedication to its commitments during our global WeilPride conference that is being held today in our New York office.
