Weil is advising Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPP Investments”) in connection with the formation of a new U.S. fiber joint venture with AT&T and Global Infrastructure Partners. The joint venture will bring together Forged Fiber 37 and Gigapower under one wholesale fiber commercial open access company to accelerate the expansion of fiber internet across U.S. communities. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
