Marcia Goldstein and Kelly DiBlasi Win Professional Excellence Awards from New York Law Journal

Marcia Goldstein has received the Lifetime Achievement award and Kelly DiBlasi has received a Rising Star award from the New York Law Journal, as part of the publication's annual Professional Excellence Awards.

Ms. Goldstein is one of just seven individuals selected for the Lifetime Achievement award, which recognizes those who have made an impact on the legal community and the practice of law over an entire career.

Ms. Goldstein, currently a member of the Firm’s Management Committee, previously chaired Weil’s Business Finance & Restructuring Department for about 13 years, spanning the financial crisis and its long aftermath. A lifelong New Yorker, she has spent her entire career at Weil, playing a leading role in some of the most historic and highest-profile crises, controversies and turnaround stories of the last four decades, including most recently leading the Weil team representing Takata in its chapter 11 proceeding. Throughout this time, she has advocated for, mentored and inspired other women, particularly in the restructuring field. She has always made time for service to the New York community, through her work on various non-profit leadership committees and boards. She has also lectured at Yale, Harvard, Columbia, NYU and Cornell Law Schools.

Ms. DiBlasi, also a partner in Weil’s Business Finance & Restructuring Department, is among a select group identified as New York’s most promising attorneys under 40 who have excelled both in their practice areas and in service to the community.

The award reflects not only Ms. DiBlasi’s restructuring expertise but also her leadership in the legal community and her commitment to pro bono service. She has long served as general counsel to the New York Police and Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund, an organization that provides financial assistance to families of first responders who die in the line of duty.

Ms. Goldstein and Ms. DiBlasi, along with the other winners, will be profiled in the New York Law Journal’s upcoming Professional Excellence magazine and honored at the New York Legal Awards on October 10.
