Edward Reines Profiled as a Law360 Trials MVP for 2022

Weil’s Patent Litigation and Life Sciences practices Co-Head Edward Reines has been profiled as one of Law360’s 2022 Trials MVPs, an honor reserved for just five attorneys industrywide.

The publication underscored Edward’s success litigating five jury trials in a 10-month period. He told Law360 he was especially proud to have won a $45 million jury verdict for client CareDx. The jury in that case found rival Natera had falsely advertised its kidney transplant rejection test as superior to CareDx’s product.

"To see that vindicated, because with a jury you never know what's going to happen, was heartwarming," Edward told Law360.

Edward also was recognized for jury trial wins for Illumina, Inc. (in a patent infringement case against rival BGI Genomics Co. Ltd.) and for ArcherDX Inc. and Massachusetts General Hospital (litigation against Qiagen).

Law360 noted Edward’s longstanding passion for the law while observing that his trial schedule over the last year was daunting.

"Five trials in 10 months really motivated me to enjoy the summer," Edward told Law360.

This is the second time Law360 has honored Edward as an MVP. He was chosen in the Life Sciences category in 2019.
