Patent Litigation and Life Sciences practices Co-Head Edward Reines was named “General Patent Litigator of the Year – California” at Legal Media Group’s 10th annual Life Sciences Americas Awards.
Edward was recognized for three jury trial wins over the past year. He represented Illumina, Inc. in a patent infringement case against Chinese conglomerate and rival BGI, finding willful patent infringement of four patents; CareDx, Inc., in securing a nearly $45 million false advertising jury verdict against competitor Natera; and ArcherDX and Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital, winning a $4.7 million jury verdict in Delaware federal court in a competitor patent infringement dispute.
The awards recognize the best in the industry following a thorough survey of the life sciences sector and are based on extensive research and input from attorneys active in the market. This is the third time in the past five years that Edward has been shortlisted for the award.
Winners were announced at a ceremony in New York City on September 8.
