Nico Basil is an associate in Weil’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice and is based in New York. Nico participates in the representation of public and private companies in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Nico has been part of the teams advising:

  • Avista Public Acquisition Corp. II, a SPAC sponsored by Avista Acquisition LP II (an affiliate of Avista Capital Holdings), in its $850 million business combination with OmniAb, Inc.
  • Blue Torch Capital, as administrative agent and collateral agent, in a senior secured term facility for Spire Global, Inc.
  • Eli Lilly and Company in its research collaboration with, and equity investment in, Verve Therapeutics, Inc.
  • MarketAxess Holdings Inc. in its acquisition of Pragma LLC

Prior to joining Weil, Nico was a Corporate associate at another international law firm.

Nico received his J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law, where he served as an Executive Managing Editor of the Emory International Law Review, and his B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
