Ed Gander
Ed Gander is Head of Weil’s London Private Funds Group and Co-Head of Weil’s Global Private Funds Group. He has twenty-five years of fundraising experience and, uniquely among legal funds practitioners, he was a founder and managing partner of his own private equity business, ViaNova Capital, between 2003 and 2006.

Ed is a renowned private funds industry leader and has sat on a variety of BVCA, FCA and EMPEA Legal and Regulatory committees.

Ed is recognised by legal directories as a leading Private Funds Lawyer by Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR and Who's Who Legal. Ed was also named in Legal 500’s Inaugural Hall of Fame in Investment Fund Formation and Management. He is recognised by Financial News in its “Rising Stars Hall of Fame 2016” list and was selected to the 2014 London Super Lawyers list for his financial and investment services expertise.

Ed's experience includes raising private equity, infrastructure, real estate, credit and secondaries funds. Ed is co-Chair of Weil's Global Pro Bono Group, comprising over 1000 Weil lawyers, which provides individuals and organisations with free legal advice who could otherwise not afford to be represented. Ed oversees Weil's global pro bono programme which provides over 60,000 pro bono hours each year to Weil clients in need. Ed is also a Trustee of the UK Infrastructure Industry Association, a charity which raises funds for worthy causes connected to the UK infrastructure industry.
