DALLAS, September 2, 2025: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that private equity dealmaker Nate Christensen has rejoined the Firm as a partner in the U.S. Private Equity Group, based in the Dallas office.
Nate brings extensive experience both as a law firm partner and as the former general counsel of an international energy, infrastructure, real estate and alternative investment firm. For over 20 years he has advised clients across a broad spectrum of complex transactions and capital structures in numerous industries, including energy (conventional, renewables, power infrastructure and energy transition), real estate, professional sports, financial services, professional services and consumer goods. Nate rejoins at the same time as Joseph H. Lee, a partner in Weil’s new IP, Technology & Science Litigation practice in Los Angeles, and together they are the 14th and 15th partners to return to Weil since the beginning of 2023.
“We’re very excited to welcome Nate back to Weil as the growth of our top-ranked Private Equity practice accelerates,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “We have known Nate for many years and are confident he has the skills and experience that our clients require as they consider investment strategies in Dallas and beyond.”
“We are committed to continuing to expand our premier global private equity practice, including in the Dallas market where we have been for many years, and Nate will be instrumental in seizing that opportunity,” said Michael J. Aiello, Chairman of Weil’s Corporate Department. “He is a talented technical lawyer who brings deep market knowledge and a wealth of experience in representing sponsors and their portfolio companies in their most significant transactions.”
“Private equity investors are looking for turnkey service and top-notch counsel. Nate’s wide-ranging skillset and relationships throughout the industry enable him to deliver a superior level of support to our clients,” said David Gail, Private Equity Partner in Weil’s Dallas office. “Just as importantly, he is an ideal cultural fit, and we are thrilled to have him back at Weil.”
“Nate’s return to the Dallas office is terrific for Weil and our clients. He is a first-rate private equity lawyer who has advised some of the world’s foremost investors and capital providers, and we are fortunate to have him back on our team," said Vynessa Nemunaitis, Co-Managing Partner of Weil's Dallas office.
Nate joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner, and earlier served as General Counsel at Hunt Consolidated, Inc., one of the largest private international energy, infrastructure, real estate and alternative investment firms. Prior to that, he was a lawyer in Weil’s U.S. Private Equity Group in Dallas.
Today’s announcement marks the latest move in the ongoing expansion of Weil’s U.S. Private Equity Group, which has seen the Firm open new offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco and the addition of nine leading partners in just the past year.
“My professional journey has truly come full circle with my return to Weil,” said Nate. “I feel very excited and privileged to have the opportunity to renew old friendships and collaborate with new colleagues as we advise the Firm’s sophisticated clients all over the world.”
