Trace A Hancock
Biography

Trace Hancock is an associate in Weil’s Private Equity practice and is based in Houston. Trace advises and represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and other investors with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, with a particular focus on the infrastructure, energy and energy transition sectors.
Trace has been part of the teams advising:
- CPP Investments in its $1 billion investment in AlphaGen
- DT Midstream, Inc. in its $1.2 billion acquisition of a portfolio of three FERC-regulated natural gas transmission pipelines from ONEOK, Inc.
- EQT Transition Infrastructure in its acquisition of Scale Microgrids
Prior to joining Weil, Trace was an associate at another international law firm.
Trace received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School where he served as Chief Justice of the Tulane Moot Court and Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. While in law school, Trace specialized in constitutional law in the area of voting rights. Trace earned a Masters in Finance and Accounting and a B.S. from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.
