Giana SanGiovanni
Giana SanGiovanni is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice, where she focuses on litigating a wide range of commercial disputes, including business torts, class actions, breach of contract, fraud, and statutory compliance claims.

Her recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • The Special Master for the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware in connection with enforcing judgments for billions of dollars, and carrying out a Court supervised sale of the shares of PDV Holding, Inc., the parent Company of CITGO Holding, Inc. CITGO is one of the largest refiners, transporters, and marketers of motor fuels, petrochemicals, and other industrial products in the United States.
  • A large pharmaceutical company with investigating and potentially suing for breach of contract.
  • A major retailer in defending against an eviction lawsuit, and in asserting counterclaims, including for breach of contract. 

Giana is also involved in the firm’s pro bono initiatives, and has worked with both the Innocence Project and the ACLU. Giana has assisted the Innocence Project in its review of claims of innocence and wrongful conviction by incarcerated individuals, and has worked side-by-side with the ACLU in representing deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals as plaintiffs seeking accessibility accommodations in Georgia prisons (which will now proceed to trial after the court granted class certification).

Giana received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division of Barristers’ Council, a member of the Women’s Legal Alliance, and a member of the champion team in the 2021 ABA Arbitration Regional Competition. Giana received her B.S., summa cum laude, in Marketing and Finance from Florida State University, and is an involved alumna as a member of the FSU College of Business Recent Alumni Board.
