The Firm ranked ninth on the list, earning this accolade based on its global network and expertise, outstanding quality of work, record of innovation and premier clients, among other factors. The publication noted that Weil “originated the modern bankruptcy practice,” highlighting the Firm’s accomplishments at the forefront of the field, which includes leading five of the six largest bankruptcy filings in U.S. history.

The publication highlighted Weil’s recent achievements leading the chapter 11 restructuring of Scandinavian Airlines System, and representing ad hoc groups of secured lenders in the chapter 11 restructurings of airline lessor Nordic Aviation Capital and offshore rig operator Seadrill Limited.
