Mergers & Acquisitions partner Michelle Sargent has been named one of Law360’s 2025 “Rising Stars” for Mergers & Acquisitions, honoring her career achievements advising on major, multi-billion dollar deals across industries.

The publication noted her work on multiple transactions, including advising NEOGEN Corporation in its $5.3 billion combination with the Food Safety business of 3M, Bell Canada in its C$5.0 billion acquisition of Ziply Fiber and MarketAxess Holdings Inc. in its acquisition of Pragma.

She called Bell’s acquisition of Ziply a “transformative transaction” and noted that it was particularly interesting due to its cross-border nature.

“I got the opportunity to advise a very sophisticated client from the perspective of being a U.S. lawyer,” Michelle told Law360. “Advising on the U.S. aspects of M&A on a deal with significant regulatory complexity was really exciting."

Having been with Weil her entire career, she said her biggest highlight so far was making partner in 2022, nine years after joining the Firm as a summer associate. As partner, she told the publication she makes a point of helping develop younger attorneys at Weil.

"I've always been very, very focused on mentorship and development of our associates," she said, "and [making partner] really puts me in a position that I get to continue to focus on that for the long term, too."
