Michael J. Aiello Named 2025 “Notable M&A Dealmaker” by Crain’s

Crain’s New York Business has named Corporate Department Chairman Michael J. Aiello among its 2025 “Notable M&A Dealmakers.”

Michael was honored as one of 41 professionals at the forefront of M&A activity in New York – a select group of top advisors who “exemplify the vision and execution powering today’s dealmaking.”

Michael was commended for his leadership of Weil’s Corporate Department and his work guiding some of the largest M&A deals of the past 12 months. Crain’s highlighted his role advising Kroger in its proposed $24.6 billion merger with Albertsons (and related $1.9 billion store sales) and The Home Depot in its $18.25 billion acquisition of SRS Distribution.

Additionally, Crain’s recognized Michael for his board service for the New York Police & Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund as well as his work with the Georgia Innocence Project to exonerate a man who was wrongfully imprisoned.

Crain’s New York Business’ editors selected nominees based on their demonstrated accomplishments, significant impact and community contributions over the past year.
