Senior Partner Ira M. Millstein received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at Corporate Secretary's 15th annual Corporate Governance Awards on November 9, 2022. 

“As a founder of the modern day corporate governance practice, Ira has led the way for so many in this area over the last half century, and this award rightly reflects his singular place in the industry,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf.  

The Corporate Governance Awards recognize excellence by governance professionals in areas such as compliance and ethics programs, ESG reporting, entity management, use of technology, proxy statements, investor engagement and corporate transactions.

In accepting the award, Mr. Millstein said: “I am deeply grateful to my law firm, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, and my partners, for without them, I could not have spent so many decades working with and advising so many outstanding American companies and their shareholders (now stakeholders).”

Corporate Secretary was founded in 2002 to help corporate secretaries and other governance professionals develop a deeper understanding of their roles and become more effective in them at a time when publicly listed companies’ regulatory compliance requirements began to escalate.
