Biography

Julia Deutsch
Julia Deutsch is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Appeals and Strategic Counseling groups. She has represented clients before state and federal courts, including the Second, Fourth, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and in seeking certiorari before the Supreme Court. She also maintains an active pro bono practice that includes successfully securing asylum for an individual fleeing gender-based violence, serving as guardian ad litem, and litigating on behalf of SNAP recipients.*

Before joining Weil, Julia clerked for the Honorable Sarah A. L. Merriam of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Timothy L. Brooks of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. She also worked at another global law firm.

Julia earned her J.D., cum laude, from University of Michigan Law School, and her B.A., cum laude, in International Politics and Economics, with a focus on East Asia and China, from Middlebury College.
