Daniel Silbert
Daniel is an associate in Weil’s Securities Litigation practice, where he focuses on litigating securities class actions, shareholder derivative litigation, regulatory investigations, and other complex business disputes.

Daniel’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • American International Group, Inc., as equity holder and largest unsecured creditor owed approximately $37.5 billion, in connection with the chapter 11 case of a subsidiary
  • A cryptocurrency conglomerate in several matters related to a subsidiary’s chapter 11 filing
  • Warner Bros. Discovery in litigation arising out of the historic combination of Warner Bros. with Discovery, Inc.

Daniel also maintains an active pro bono practice, including regularly working to assist individuals applying for Temporary Protective Status and serving on a Weil team representing a Congolese-American immigrant in a mandamus action against the federal government for failure to process her petition to reunite with her daughter.

Prior to joining Weil, Daniel taught English as a Fulbright Scholar in Bogotá, Colombia and worked in sales for a political technology startup.

Daniel received his J.D., cum laude, from the New York University School of Law, where he was a Robert McKay Scholar, a staff editor on Moot Court Board, and a teacher with the High School Law Institute. During law school, he won first place in the National Sports Law Moot Court Invitational and served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable R. Brooke Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He earned his B.A., cum laude, in Economics from Georgetown University.
