Six Weil lawyers have been recognized by the International Refugee Assistance Project’s fifth annual “Pro Bono Appreciation Week.”
Mergers & Acquisitions Co-Head Michael Lubowitz and Tax associate Theo Agbi were named an “Excellent Pro Bono Case Team” for obtaining approval for an Afghan family to resettle in the U.S. The pair helped guide the family through the visa process and, once they arrived in the U.S., donated some household items to them and tracked down missing green cards.
Litigation partner Diane Sullivan, Securities Litigation associates Stephanie Scanzillo and Daniel Silbert and Complex Commercial Litigation associate Avi Snider were recognized as an “Excellent Pro Bono Litigation Team.” They succeeded in reuniting a refugee family, including a mother and daughter who had not seen each other in 13 years. The family faced extensive delays in their petition until the Weil team stepped in.
