Andrew Nichol
Andrew Nichol is a partner in Weil’s Private Equity and Private Funds practice groups and is a member of the New York office.

Andrew’s practice is focused on advising private equity and alternative asset managers ranging from the largest asset manager firms to first-time fund managers on buy and sell-side GP-stake transactions, including minority and control investments, preferred equity and other structured equity arrangements, as well as strategic capital raises, seeding and anchor investor transactions, and product development and expansion.

Andrew also represents leadership teams and founders in connection with upper-tier structuring matters including succession planning, the development of equity incentive and carry plans, partner departures and hires, and governance structuring.  In addition, he represents sponsors in connection with the formation and launch of new asset management platforms and next-generation sponsor vehicles.

Prior to joining Weil, Andrew was a partner at another leading international law firm.

Andrew received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and his B.A., with distinction, from University of Manitoba.
