Amar Adam
Amar Adam is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice group, where he focuses on litigating a broad array of complex commercial cases in state and federal courts nationwide and before arbitration panels.

Amar’s recent notable experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • A media conglomerate in obtaining a temporary restraining order preventing the termination of 40-year-old agreements with another media company.
  • A global energy company in winning a complete defense jury verdict in an indemnity dispute with a competitor.
  • Sears in securing appellate victories at both the district court and Second Circuit, including the Supreme Court’s denial of certiorari, in its dispute with the Mall of American regarding the rights to a lease in the mall.
  • A manufacturer of building materials in securing a favorable settlement in a breach-of-lease dispute.

As part of his pro bono practice, Amar provides legal representations to non-profits and indigent defendants. Recently, he successfully resolved a contract dispute for the Progeria Research Foundation, a research organization attempting to find a cure for progeria. Additionally, he is collaborating with the Innocence Project to review the application of an indigent defendant seeking to overturn his conviction.

Amar received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he served as the Senior Note & Comment Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Policy. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, where he worked as a Policy Debate Coach, who helped lead the team to become the top-ranked program and National Debate Champions during the 2018-2019 season.
