NEW YORK, September 16, 2026: Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP today announced the next step in its ambitious growth strategy: naming Kyle Krpata and Michael Lubowitz as Co-Chairs of the Firm's Corporate Department, effective immediately. These appointments elevate the Firm’s Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions leaders, giving clients a holistic view of the deal market through a unified platform that further strengthens the Firm for the benefit of its clients and people.

The deal market is evolving, and Weil is investing to meet that shift head-on, building the leadership, talent, and platform to deliver the highest level of service to its clients and define the Firm's next decade of growth.

"Kyle and Michael have each built some of the most sought-after practices in the market and bringing the two of them together to lead the Corporate Department is a deliberate step in the strategy we're executing across this Firm," said Ramona Nee, incoming Executive Partner. "Our world-class Private Equity and M&A practices will continue to drive the Firm forward within the Corporate Department, giving clients the full strength of our platform. It's exactly the kind of leadership structure this next chapter of growth requires."

The Corporate Department spans 600 lawyers across three continents, including the Firm’s M&A, Private Equity, Private Funds, and Finance Practices. Together, Lubowitz, who has spent 36 years at Weil, and Krpata, who has spent 30 years, will jointly leverage their institutional knowledge to lead the Corporate Department’s continued growth.

"Kyle and I have worked alongside each other on deals for years, and we see the same path forward for the Corporate Department," said Lubowitz. "The pace and shape of dealmaking has changed, and our Corporate Department is moving with that same coordination, whether we're representing a public company board, a strategic acquirer, or a sponsor on the other side of the table. We've built these practices side by side for years, and coming together to lead the Firm's largest department is the natural next step as we continue to scale."

“Weil has made a clear choice to build its platform to support the way the market has shifted and meet our clients’ needs,” said Krpata. “As Co-Chairs, we will work together to execute on the Firm’s growth strategy, continuing to provide our clients with the best advice and service, recruiting exceptional talent and creating even greater opportunities for our people. There is real ambition behind where we are going, and we are just getting started.”

These appointments build on the Firm's recent investments, including Ramona Nee's appointment as incoming Executive Partner and several lateral hires. Weil's investment in Krpata and Lubowitz's leadership marks the clearest signal yet of the platform the Firm is building for what comes next.

"We are doubling down on our talent, recruiting exceptional lawyers who share our ambitions, and moving decisively where we see opportunities to make Weil stronger," said Jonathon Soler, Co-Managing Partner of Weil. "Tapping leaders from PE and M&A is one of those opportunities. Kyle and Michael are two of the lawyers our clients trust most and putting them at the head of the Corporate Department is exactly the kind of investment this moment calls for."
