The National Law Journal has named Weil “Antitrust Litigation Department of the Year” in the publication’s 2025 Legal Awards for guiding major companies through their enterprise-stakes antitrust challenges.
Weil’s Antitrust practice was honored for serving as global antitrust counsel to Microsoft Corporation in the completion of its $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc., helping Regeneron Pharmaceuticals secure a landmark $406.8M plaintiff jury verdict against Amgen Inc. as well as representing Saks Fifth Avenue and Simon & Schuster in significant private antitrust class actions.
The publication also published a Q&A with Antitrust partner Meagan Bellshaw, who credited Weil’s teamwork culture and client-driven approach as the drivers of the practice’s success. Meagan also noted the inherent complexity of the matters – which often span jurisdictions and involve numerous regulatory agencies and sophisticated economics – is the most demanding and exciting aspect of the practice.
“The most challenging part of this job is that all of our cases are really hard – that’s why clients hire us!” she told the publication. “Thinking creatively and finding a solution to impossible problems is both the most difficult and most rewarding part of the kind of high-stakes, ground-breaking litigation that is Weil’s specialty.”
Winners were announced at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 5. To read the entire Q&A, please visit The National Law Journal.
