Weil has advised Advent on its investment in Mistral’s €3 billion Series D funding round, one of the largest funding rounds raised by a European technology company. Mistral is Europe’s leading frontier AI company and a pioneer of open-weight models that enterprises and governments can run on their own infrastructure, adapt with their own data and govern on their own terms. The funding round will enable Mistral to scale its sovereign AI capability in Europe and beyond.

The Weil team was led by Private Equity partners Lewis Blakey and Jean Beauchataud, supported by counsel Tony Herron and Alexandre Kong and associate Q Zhu.
