Tony Herron
Biography
Tony is counsel in the Private Equity group in London. He specialises in advising private equity funds on domestic and cross-border buyouts (including complex carve-outs), minority investments and disposals, as well as their portfolio companies on transactional and general corporate matters.
From September 2025 to June 2026, Tony was seconded to Bain Capital Private Equity, as M&A counsel, advising on acquisitions, disposals and general corporate matters. He has also spent time on secondment to Vitruvian Partners.
Representative experience, including prior to joining Weil and on secondment at Bain Capital Private Equity, includes advising:
- Advent on the $3.45bn sale of Ultra Maritime to Lockheed Martin Corporation
- Bain Capital on the acquisition of a 51% stake in Everllence from Volkswagen in a transaction that generates approximately €7.4bn of proceeds for Volkswagen*
- Bain Capital on the sale of XTEL to Oakley Capital*
- Bain Capital on the sale of a majority stake in STADA Arnzeimittel AG to CapVest*
- Bain Capital and its portfolio company, Namirial, on the acquisition of Signaturit from PSG Equity*
- OCS Group (a portfolio company of CD&R) on the acquisition of EMCOR Group (UK) plc
- Advent on the $1.55 billion sale of Ultra PCS to Eaton Corporation Plc
- Advent and its portfolio company, Rubix, on the carve-out acquisition of ERIKS UK & Ireland
- Advent on a minority investment by investors led by Neuberger Berman Private Markets in its portfolio company, Rubix
- Advent and its portfolio company, SYSPRO, on the carve-out acquisition of NexSys from K3 Business Technology Group plc
- Advent on its acquisition of SYSPRO, a leading global Enterprise Resource Planning software provider
- Sun European Partners on its sale of Adler & Allan to the private equity business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives
- Advent on its partnership with the founder of the Parfums de Marly and INITIO Parfums Privés niche fragrance brands
- Bain Capital on the acquisition, together with Nextalia, of Deltatre
- PAI Partners on its acquisition of HKA
- Lone Star Funds on the equity arrangements relating to its acquisition of the XSYS division (which specialises in the development and supply of printing plates, sleeves and adapters, and pre-press equipment to the packaging industry) from the Flint Group
- Advent on the carve-out sale of Tag (part of the Williams Lea Tag group) to Dentsu
- Newlight Partners on its growth equity investment in Landways, the UK’s leading provider of integrated in-building digital and power infrastructure
- Kantar (a portfolio company of Bain Capital) on the merger, in partnership with SilverTree Equity, of Kantar Xtel with StepUp
- Soul Foods Group, which owns and manages global food and coffee franchises, on a minority equity investment by Centerbridge, OpCapita and Metric Capital
- General Atlantic on its acquisition of an interest in Kiwi.com
- Angstrom Sport, a specialist provider of US sports forecasting and data analytics, on its sale to Entain plc
- Compass Partners on the sale of Rodenstock to Apax Partners
- Centerbridge Partners as senior lender of Parks of Poland in connection with its consensual recapitalisation
- Charterhouse Capital Partners and Tunstall on the restructuring of the Tunstall Group
