John P. Barry, Head of Weil’s Employment Practice Group, has been recognized as a 2023 “Employment & Discrimination Law Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal.
In the special feature, John discusses how he decided to focus early in his career on trying injunction hearings in restrictive covenant matters for more trial experience. He also explains how he recognized the need early on to gain trade secrets expertise as it is an important area of the law related to the enforcement of non-compete clauses.
John told the National Law Journal that he expects changes in the space to lead to an “explosion” of trade secrets litigation on the east coast and in major metropolitan areas of the U.S., similar to what he said has been happening for years in California, where non-compete and non-solicit agreements related to employment are prohibited.
