Head of Weil’s international and cross-border Tax practice Devon Bodoh has been recognized as a 2023 “Tax Law Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal. He is among a group of just 15 attorneys honored and profiled.

In the special feature, Devon discusses how his experience working with private equity firms and public companies influenced his work advising on special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) transactions from a tax perspective during the “SPAC boom” seen in recent years. He noted that though the boom has slowed, the innovative, multidisciplinary approaches used on SPAC deals will positively impact future deals, including de-SPAC transactions.

In addition to his work on SPAC and de-SPAC deals, Devon strategically advises clients on a range of complex, cross-border tax issues relating to mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, restructurings, tax credits and consolidated return matters.
