Matthew Bloch retired from the partnership in 2014. Matthew was a partner in the New York office and was head of the Firm’s Capital Markets practice. Matthew represented issuers and underwriters in a wide variety of U.S. securities offerings. He also has experience in overseas public and private acquisitions, having been resident in Weil’s Budapest office for more than two years.
Matthew was recognized as a leading lawyer in Capital Markets – Debt and Equity by Chambers USA 2013-2014, Chambers Global 2014, and IFLR1000. In addition, he formerly served as chairman of the Firm’s Professional Development Committee, and he devoted a substantial amount of time to training and mentoring junior lawyers.
Matthew graduated magna cum laude from both Brandeis University (B.A., 1977) and Boston University School of Law (J.D., 1984). He also served as a note and case editor of the Boston University Law Review.
