Jenae Ward
Jenae Ward is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice. She focuses on a broad range of disputes in state and federal courts, in matters involving breach of contract, employment issues, and bankruptcy-related litigation.

Jenae has played a lead role in conducting and preparing for depositions, all stages of discovery, and drafting motions to dismiss and other motions.  Jenae’s notable recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing Alaska Airlines in a high-profile commercial dispute (pending in the Federal District Court in Dallas) regarding gate access at Dallas Love Field, Safeguard Business Systems, Inc. in a commercial dispute, and multiple companies, including Kingfisher Midstream, EP Energy Corporation, UTEX Industries, Inc., and Speedcast International Limited in connection with chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the Southern District of Texas.

In 2021, Jenae was selected as a National Black Lawyer Top 40 Under 40 in Texas.

Jenae received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2019, where she served as an Articles Editor on the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, and her B.A. in history and international studies from Emory University in 2013.  Prior to attending law school, Jenae served as a Teach For America corps member and taught Middle School Social Studies in Montgomery, Alabama.
