Biography
Prior to joining Weil, he practiced at another major international law firm.
Jan has advised on a variety of M&A/PE transactions including:
- Ardian on the acquisition of Anti-Germ Group*
- Astellas Pharma on the acquisition of Ganymed Pharmaceuticals AG*
- Bahrain Mumtalakat on the acquisition of a minority stake in Axtmann Aviation Holding GmbH*
- BayWa AG on the sale of a minority stake in its renewable energy business to Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP)*
- Callaway Golf on the acquisition of Jack Wolfskin*
- Centerbridge Partners on the envisaged acquisition of Hymer Group*
- Elmos Semiconductor on the divestment of its wafer fabrication operations to Littlefuse Inc.*
- Founders of Tipico, a leading German sports betting provider, in connection with the combination of the EUR 4.6bn Tipico business with the EUR 4.8bn Betclic business owned by Banijay Group

- STADA in connection with internal compliance matters*
- TUI AG in connection with (i) its 1.8bn EUR capital increase with subscription rights to repay state aid under the German Economic Stabilisation Fund (Wirtschaftstabilisierungsfonds; WSF) and (ii) the preparation and execution of its annual general meeting*
- RAG-Stiftung, one of the largest German foundations, on the restructuring of its real estate portfolio*
- Several listed companies (alstria office REIT-AG, Uniper SE, IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG, Elmos Semiconductor SE) on their annual general meetings and on various corporate and capital market law topics*

Jan studied law at the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne (first state exam 2010) as well as business administration at the University of Hagen (business degree 2014). He spent his legal clerkship at Hengeler Mueller in Düsseldorf, Slaughter and May in London as well as Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt am Main (second state exam 2015; Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf). He earned his doctorate on a corporate law topic from the University of Cologne (Dr. iur. 2022) and was admitted to practice in Germany in 2016.
Jan is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
