Weil’s German offices advised TI Automotive, a market-leading tier 1 automotive supplier, on the successful transformation and sale of its plastic injection molding business in Mühlacker, Germany. Advice included the strategic preparation and implementation of the planned restructuring measures as well as the subsequent sale at the end of the transformation process.
TI Automotive is a global tier 1 automotive supplier with advanced expertise in fluid management and lightweighting. Headquartered in Michigan, USA, the group’s safety- and performance-critical products support all major global OEMs.
Weil supported TI Automotive throughout the transformation of its Mühlacker plant in Germany, a non-core business primarily manufacturing injection molded components for automotive interiors. This included the preparation of the required measures through to the successful completion of a sales process which secured a new owner to support the Mühlacker plant in the next stage of its development.
The transaction highlights the increasing significance of transformation processes in the automotive supply industry and again shows Weil’s exceptional expertise in providing multidisciplinary advice on matters involving both restructuring and M&A elements, in particular in the manufacturing and automotive industries.
The Weil team was led by partner Andreas Fogel (Corporate, Munich) and included partners Tobias Geerling (Tax, Munich) and Matthias Eiden (Restructuring, Frankfurt), counsel Thomas Zimmermann (Finance, Munich) and Carolin Vettermann (Tax, Munich) as well as associates Melina Husic (Restructuring, Frankfurt), Kevin Mägerle, Jan Danelzik, Lucas Valio Ottowitz (all Corporate, Munich), Alexander Reich (Tax, Frankfurt), Florian Striefler (Tax, Munich), Antonia Fichtner (Finance, Munich), Daniel Matijevic and Ramona Fehringer (both Litigation, Munich).
