Emily’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- The second-largest live event promoter in a Florida breach of contract action.
- Non-profit religious organizations and individuals in a nationwide class action alleging federal and state labor violations.
- The North American arm of a large oil and gas company in an Eleventh Circuit appeal related to a nationwide class action involving tort and antitrust claims.
- National Public Finance Guarantee Corporation, an insurer of various bonds issued by various Puerto Rico entities, in litigation related to the restructuring of the Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority and other Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bankruptcy proceedings.
Apart from her practice, Emily is strongly committed to her pro bono matters. She has provided counseling to a variety of non-profit organizations, including the Innocence Project.
Emily graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and earned the Outstanding 3L Pro Bono Award. She also served as executive editor of the University of Miami Law Review, where her Note, Florida’s Privacy Paradox, was selected for publication and awarded the Soia Mentschikoff Award for Excellence in Scholarly Writing. During law school, she interned for the Honorable Aldaberto Jordan of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Honorable Jacqueline Becerra of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Honorable Edwin Torres of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She earned her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Central Florida, where she double majored in Political Science and Legal Studies.
