Biography

Christiana Johnson is an associate in the Restructuring Department of Weil’s New York office. Christiana’s practice focuses on debtors, creditors and other stakeholders in chapter 11 proceedings and complex restructuring transactions. Prior to joining Weil, Christiana was an associate in the bankruptcy and restructuring group at a major international law firm.
Christiana received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor on the Michigan Law Review. While in law school, she also served as student attorney with the Michigan Innocence Clinic and the Michigan Women’s Justice & Clemency Project. Prior to law school, Christiana received her B.A. in Political Science and History, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University at Buffalo (SUNY).

Debtor/Company-Side Experience:
- Unigel Participações S.A. and three of its affiliates, a Brazilian based Petrochemical Company, in connection with their U.S. chapter 15 cases to obtain recognition of two Brazilian extrajudicial reorganization plans restructuring approximately $810 million in debt.
Creditor/Sponsor/Other Experience:
- An ad hoc group of term loan lenders (including KKR, Guggenheim and Caspian) in connection with the chapter 11 cases of Accuride Corporation (“Accuride”), formerly a portfolio company of Crestview Partners. Accuride is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of steel and aluminum wheels for the commercial vehicle industry. Accuride’s restructuring resulted in the ad hoc group taking a controlling stake in the business through a chapter 11 plan of reorganization.
- Riverstone Holdings LLC, as equity sponsor in the chapter 11 cases of Enviva Inc., a publically traded company and the world’s largest producer of industrial wood pellets, a renewable and sustainable energy source, servicing power generators in the UK, European Union, and Japan, with approximately $1.8 billion in debt.
