Three Weil Partners Named Finalists in The American Lawyer’s 2026 Industry Awards

Three Weil partners have been named finalists in The American Lawyer’s 2026 Industry Awards, which “aim to highlight the legal industry’s most impactful and important work of the past year.”

The following Weil attorneys are finalists in their respective categories:

  • Corporate Department Chairman Michael J. Aiello – “Best Law Firm Corporate Lawyers of the Year: M&A and Private Equity”
    Michael was recognized for advising in more than $110 billion in major M&A transactions, including transformative deals for The Home Depot, Sunoco, Fox Corporation and Sanofi.
  • Global Chair of the Restructuring Department Matt Barr – “Best Law Firm Corporate Lawyers of the Year: Capital and Solutions”
    Matt was recognized for guiding some of the year’s most consequential restructuring and special situation matters, including First Brands Group’s landmark chapter 11 and the historic judicial sale of Citgo Petroleum’s parent company.
  • Co-Head of the Appeals and Strategic Counseling practice Robert Niles-Weed – “Young Lawyer of the Year (Litigation)”
    Robert was recognized for securing major victories in high-stakes litigation, including a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court victory in Bartenwerfer v. Buckley and a $406.8 million antitrust jury verdict for Regeneron.
