FRANKFURT/MUNICH, February 17, 2026 - Weil announces another significant addition to its ranks, continuing the Firm's dynamic expansion. With Benjamin Rapp, an experienced tax lawyer and former partner rejoins the Firm. He will head the German tax practice going forward. Benjamin's focus on transaction tax law will further strengthen the Firm's interdisciplinary expertise in the Corporate/M&A space.
This announcement follows on the heels of further additions in recent days and months – and underlines Weil's systematic expansion of its transaction practice and strengthening of its expertise in line with demand. Benjamin's return is a particularly positive development: He already was a part of the Firm for several years, was promoted to partner at Weil and is familiar with most clients, the Firm culture and the strategic positioning from his own experience. His return after roughly two years is a strong sign of loyalty and shows how attractive the Firm is as a platform for sophisticated tax law and transaction-related advice.
“We are particularly delighted about the return of Benjamin, the best the market has to offer in the field of transaction tax. He remained closely connected to us personally even after his departure, and we are thrilled to have him back on board,” said German Tax Partner Tobias Geerling. “Together, we will take our transaction tax practice to the next level.”
With Benjamin Rapp, Weil is welcoming back its 19th partner globally since 2023. This number speaks for itself: the Firm is not only able to attract top lawyers – they also return to where they can best realize their potential.
Britta Grauke, the Co-Managing Partner of the German offices, added: “This impressively underlines the strength of our platform, the quality of our mandates, and the long-term perspective we offer.”
With this move, Weil strengthens its position as a leading advisor for Corporate/M&A, Private Equity, and transaction-related tax issues, continuing on its course with significant momentum.
