Ronit Berkovich Featured as a Law360 Bankruptcy MVP for 2025

Restructuring Department Co-Chair Ronit Berkovich has been featured as a Law360 Bankruptcy MVP for 2025, one of just four attorneys in the U.S. to receive the honor.

In an interview with the publication, Ronit highlighted her work leading Weil’s representation of several high-profile clients in the previous year, including Avon Products, Inc. in its chapter 11 with $1.3 billion in debt and Terraform Labs Pte. Ltd. in its chapter 11 that included a $4.5 billion settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Referring to her work for Avon, Ronit said: “I like this case because it really showcases Weil’s cross-disciplinary talent and the way we coordinate to achieve great results for our clients,” which required collaboration from Weil attorneys across practices.

Ronit told Law360 that while she was in law school, she was focused on corporate law, but a bankruptcy class she took with now-U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren piqued her interest. Soon after she started her law career, when 9/11 and the dot-com bust led to a downturn in corporate law, she changed specialties.

Ronit’s proudest moment in the last year, she said, was being named Co-Chair of Weil’s Restructuring Department after being with the Firm for almost 25 years. Obtaining the role was “something beyond my wildest dreams,” she told Law360.

Ronit also noted that the role is among one of her biggest challenges of the last year, but she doesn’t intend to slow down as she helps the Firm continue its tradition of excellence.

“We have what I think is the deepest bench in the field – from senior leaders with 30, 35 years of experience, to about 10 amazing homegrown partners in their 40s, to a talented group of younger partners.”

She added that the team knows each other well and the culture is firmly rooted in collaboration, features she plans to maintain to ensure Weil remains a great place to work.

“The morale of the group is as high as it's ever been,” Ronit said.
