Simon is an associate in the Restructuring group in London.

Simon has experience acting for major financial institutions, corporate advisory firms and large multinational companies in contentious and non-contentious matters related to formal insolvency appointments, complex refinancing, schemes of arrangements and cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining Weil, Simon was an associate in the restructuring group of a leading U.S. law firm in London and prior to that a member of the restructuring and special situations group at a leading international law firm in Sydney.

Representative experience as part of a team, including prior to joining Weil, includes advising:

  • Endo International plc in relation to its restructuring, implemented pursuant to chapter 11 and an Irish creditors’ scheme of arrangement
  • An ad hoc group of bondholders in the financial restructuring of a large European paper company
  • Luxor Capital Group, LP on its acquisition of the Volta Trucks business and assets via administration sale
  • Boart Longyear in relation to its comprehensive restructuring, implemented pursuant to inter-conditional creditors’ schemes of arrangement and a re-domiciliation members’ scheme of arrangement
  • Intermediate Capital Group as sole remaining first lien lender on the fully consensual debt-for-equity swap of a distressed private equity portfolio company
  • Brookfield Special Investments in connection with its senior secured financing to an Australian debt collection and servicing business
  • The administrators on the voluntary administration of Sun Cable, a multinational Australian renewal energy venture
  • A major secured creditor in the voluntary administration of Virgin Airlines
