Nicola Noël

Nicola is an experienced finance professional with nearly 20 years spent working in lender side credit investments, combining in-house insight with private practice expertise. Nicola is recognised for her knowledge across the capital structure, including private credit, direct lending, syndicated loan and bond products, junior debt capital including second lien and PIK, and preferred capital instruments.

Nicola’s extensive network spans across the leveraged finance market, as she has built strong relationships with private credit funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, banks and private equity sponsors.

Prior to joining Weil, Nicola was a Senior Director in the legal team at PSP Investments, one of Canada’s largest pension investors and prior to that she was an Executive Director in the Credit Finance Transaction Execution Group at Goldman Sachs.

Representative experience since joining Weil includes advising:

• The lenders in respect of the provision of financing for the acquisition of JR Dalziel, a UK-based ingredients manufacturer, by Peak Rock Capital
• The lenders in a refinancing package in relation to the acquisition financing of Optima, a leading Italian manufacturer of semi-finished ingredients for artisan gelato, pastry, and beverages
• The lenders in the refinancing for Markerstudy Group Limited, a provider of general insurance services and portfolio company of Pollen Street Capital
• The lenders in the refinancing of SLR Consulting, a leading sustainability and environmental advisory firm and portfolio company of Ares Management Limited
• An ad hoc group of noteholders on the restructuring of Tullow Oil, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company
• An ad hoc group of noteholders on the comprehensive, fully-consensual recapitalization of Maxeda DIY Group, a leading DIY retailer in the Benelux region
• The lenders on a refinancing of the Therme Group in connection with CVC’s investment in the group
• HPS and Permira Credit, as senior lenders, in a consensual handover of the Away Resorts Group in connection with, and as part of, the restructuring of the Away Resorts Group (United Kingdom), which involved the amendment and restatement of the Away Resorts Group’s existing financing
