Biography
Naz Akyol is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust practice where she focuses on antitrust disputes and complex commercial litigation in both federal and state court as well as transactional regulatory clearance and government investigations.
In 2026, Naz was listed as a key lawyer for Antitrust-Civil Litigation/Class Actions: Defense by the Legal 500 US.
Naz maintains an active pro bono practice that, of late, includes working with the Center for Reproductive Rights to challenge North Dakota’s trigger ban and working with the Office of Capital and Forensic Writs to represent a client in connection with their death penalty sentencing appeal.
Naz received her J.D. from New York University School of Law where she was a Staff Editor for the Review of Law and Social Change. She received her B.A. in International Relations, magna cum lade, from Brown University.
Naz’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- Major League Baseball Players Association in connection with the dismissal of all claims against it alleging a conspiracy to monopolize the market for MLB trading cards.
- Providence Equity Partners and its portfolio company 365 Retail Markets in the acquisition of Cantaloupe, Inc. for ~$848 million, including its successful consent agreement with the Federal Trade Commission involving the divestiture of the Three Square Market business to Seaga, Inc., and behavioral commitments related to interoperability of technology.
- Regeneron in connection with winning a jury verdict on its monopolization claim against Amgen for leveraging sales of Otezla and Embrel to boost sales of Amgen’s drug, Repatha.
- The Home Depot, Inc. in its $4.3B acquisition of GMS Inc.
- Brookfield Asset Management in the $7.9 billion sale of Westinghouse Electric Company, a global leader in technologies and services to the nuclear power industry, by Brookfield Business Partners to a consortium involving Brookfield Renewable Partners and Cameco Corporation.
- Fidelity National Financial, Inc. in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into possible violations of New York state antitrust laws and Section 1 of the Sherman Act. The investigation was part of the Attorney General’s broader review of alleged “no-poach” agreements between competitors in the title insurance industry.
- Bio-Rad Laboratories, a global leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing a broad range of innovative products for the life science research and clinical diagnostic markets, in an antitrust probe related to its $125 million acquisition of DropWorks, a developer of a droplet-based digital PCR system designed to cost-effectively streamline the digital PCR workflow for life science research and diagnostic applications.
- Catalina Marketing Corporation in connection with its claims of anticompetitive pricing practices in restraint of trade against Quotient Technology Inc.
