Biography

Megy Appalaraju
Megy Appalaraju is an associate in Weil’s Antitrust group. Her practice focuses on government investigations, antitrust counseling, and regulatory approval for mergers and acquisitions across a range of industries.

Prior to joining Weil, Megy served as an intern with the Mergers I Division of the Federal Trade Commission. She received her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law, where she took part in the Housing Litigation Clinic and was an editor for the Virginia Journal of International Law. She received her B.A., in Economics from Northwestern University.

Megy’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:

  • Abbott Laboratories in its ~$21 billion acquisition of Exact Sciences
  • Foundation Building Materials, as well as its private equity sponsor owners American Securities LLC and Clayton Dubilier & Rice, LLC, in its $8.8 billion sale to Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
  • Blackstone in multiple transactions, including its $200 million investment in Entrata
  • Cedar Fair, L.P. in its $8 billion merger with Six Flags Entertainment
  • H.I.G. Capital in its ~C$1.3 billion take-private acquisition of Converge Technology Solutions
  • Lee Equity Partners in the sale of its interests in Simplicity Group Holdings to SkyKnight Capital
