Biography

Jon Ward is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice. He has worked on Weil teams representing clients involved in merger litigations, restructurings, IP disputes, and antitrust litigations across a wide spectrum of industries.
Jon’s recent experience includes serving on Weil teams representing:
- A major food retailer in multiple bench trials challenging a proposed merger
- A global media company in a class action suit involving the Video Privacy Protection Act
- Altria Group in a patent infringement action relating to e-vapor products
Jon also has an extensive pro bono practice, including work with the Innocence Project and for the ACLU.
Jon received his J.D., cum laude, from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. During law school, Jon also served as a law clerk for the City of Chicago Department of Law. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in Applied Mathematics and Political Science from Wheaton College.
