Brian A. Zharov
Brian Zharov is an associate in Weil’s Securities Litigation practice. He focuses on defending securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and other complex business disputes in a variety of industries, as well as handling internal and regulatory investigations.
Some of Brian’s recent experience includes working on Weil teams representing:
- Brookfield Asset Management and certain of its affiliates in a stockholder derivative and class action in Delaware Chancery Court arising out of a 2020 merger involving TerraForm Power, Inc.
- The Kroger Company and its directors and a senior officer in stockholder derivative litigation.
- lululemon athletica, inc. and its senior officers and directors in a securities class action and shareholder derivative actions.
- Pilgrim’s Pride, the second-largest poultry producer in the U.S., in a securities class action related to alleged industry-wide price fixing.
Brian received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and the Senior Notes Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review. During law school, Brian also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Diane Gujarati of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He earned his B.A., with highest distinction, from the University of Michigan, during which time he served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Dena E. Douglas for Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn, NY.
