Weil’s Litigation Department earned another year of top honors in the 2026 edition of Benchmark Litigation, and was again listed as a national “Top 20 Trial Law Firm.”

The Firm, which Benchmark noted as “one of the most comprehensive in terms of practice depth” and “national reach,” received Tier 1 National rankings for its Antitrust, Appellate, Bankruptcy, Commercial Litigation, Product Liability and Securities Litigation practices. Weil’s New York litigation team was also “Highly Recommended,” and its California and Florida litigation teams continue to be recognized. Further, the publication noted that Weil is “one of the few Big Law firms to house a labor-and-employment litigation group,” and “has really made a significant investment” in its appellate capacity.

Overall, Benchmark Litigation distinguished 39 Weil partners for individual ranking. These included seven Weil attorneys with four “National Practice Area Star” rankings, 23 “Litigation Star” rankings, two “Top 50 Labor and Employment Star” rankings and one “Future Star” ranking. David Lender and Diane Sullivan were again named among the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers,” a list of elite partners “who have been venerated by peers and clients as being the best in breed at the nuanced practice of trial law,” and four Weil attorneys were named to the “40 & Under List.” 

Benchmark Litigation’s rankings and analysis are based on a six-month research period, which includes an analysis of recent casework as well as interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.
