Private Funds partner Sarah Borden has been named one of Law360’s 2025 “Rising Stars” in the Fund Formation category, honoring her success advising major financial sponsors on their largest and most important fundraises.
Law360 highlighted Sarah’s work advising Genstar Capital on its $12.6 billion Genstar Capital Partners XI fund, Crow Holdings on its $3.1 billion Crow Holdings Realty Partners X fund and Brookfield Asset Management on its $10.5 billion Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners fund.
Sarah told the publication that the Genstar Capital Partners XI fund was her biggest project and one that was done in a quick timeframe with various investors, including endowments, public and corporate pension plans and family offices.
“It was definitely a huge challenge, but one that I would put at the very top of my list in terms of exciting and important matters that I've had the opportunity to work on,” Sarah said.
She said she became interested in a career in law in high school and was drawn to corporate law, particularly in financial services, while in law school. Sarah told the publication that she is motivated by the creative thinking necessary to get the best results for her clients.
“Being able to come up with a solution to a particularly thorny or challenging outcome for the client from a business perspective is definitely something that drives me every day,” she said.
